What is a virtual assistant or VA?
According to Horkey Handbook, a virtual assistant (VA) is anyone who offers services to other business owners from afar in exchange for an agreed-upon fee.
Although this definition is true, it does not clearly tell the difference between a VA, a contractor, a freelancer and so on.
So to dive deep in the meaning of a virtual assistant, here are the main traits that differentiate virtual assistants with other kinds of contractors:
- VAs work remotely
- VAs services are all done online
- VAs take on business tasks that can be outsourced* – tasks less integral to the main business mission
